One Day in Perugia
Soriano was a great rest stop in Italy, but I was determined to continue northwards, and my next stop was the walled city of Perugia, in Central Italy. I hadn’t read much about Perugia, but I was excited to explore a new town.
On the road I found a little roadside garage where the sweetest family of Alfa Romeo mechanics did a quick tune up and a spark plug change.
So I've been having some ignition trouble after some cowboy mechanics in Israel timed it without using a light. I've been battling to find the sweet spot ever since. I stopped by a tiny little workshop in Tuscia to tune Giulia up a little, now she's running sweetly again. #Italy #AlfaRomeo #Alfa105 #AlfaRoadTrip #GiuliaSprintGT #DargleToDargle
It was only a couple hours on the road between Soriano and Perugia. Perugia is a fortress city, much of it is like a maze, It’s an wonderfully beautiful city and I was surprised I’d never really heard much of it before.
I spent the evening walking around the city, taking in the sights with a friend, Francesco, who was a lovely tour guide for a couple of hours and an Alfa Romeo driver. Later we found a traditional Truscian restaurant for a wonderful dinner. The next day we met up again for a short drive in the hills around town heading north. I only had one night in Perugia, which was a shame because it’s such a lovely city.
